Applicants
Non-police applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma, and have a stable employment history with acceptable attendance. Applicants must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken; must be able to work rotating or varied shifts, weekends and holidays. Applicants must have college credits, prior military experience, prior security or law enforcement experience and/or training. Applicants must have a valid driver's license with no more than three (3) points, their own vehicle and phone. Applicants with no prior security experience are accepted on a very limited basis

A background investigation is conducted by the Evergreen Security Investigative Services Division. This investigation includes a statewide criminal history check, warrant check, driving record check, social security number/identity verification, 5 year employment history check, and education verification.

Armed Guard applicants, in addition to the above requirements, must have a valid Maryland handgun permit and own their own handgun.

Every applicant must undergo pre-employment drug testing through a NIDA approved facility. Handgun permit holders and security management personnel are subject to random urinalysis.

Off-duty police officer applicant credentials are verified as currently active through the Maryland Police Training Commission.

Training
Evergreen has an on-going training program administered by the American Academy of Public Safety. The Academy is independently owned and operated and is not affiliated with Evergreen Security, Inc.
